Reflections on Drupal Camp Chicago
Submitted by sean on Tue, 07/06/2010 - 17:00
Its been about a week and a half since Drupal Camp and I decided that it was about time that I put down some of my thoughts. All-in-all it was a great experience. The venue (The University of Chicago Law School) was classy, the provided meals were tasty, the people were friendly, and the sessions were interesting. But more than any of those individual things, I am left with a sense of wonder about what an amazing community Drupal has developed around it. People that are clearly passionate about what they do and love to share their knowledge.

The Importance of Keywords
Keywords are important for Title tags. Your number one most important keyword, at the very least, should make its way into the tag somewhere. While 66% of experts polled in the SEOMOZ ranking felt that keywords in the title tags were very highly importance, 63% felt that a keyword as the first word was important.

SEO Series Lesson 1/Part 1
The title tag is one of the most important, underlooked elements on a web page. I don't mean underlooked in the "nobody uses those" sense, but in the "lets not put much thought into that" sense. Today I think I'll go on, probably at length, about what the title tag is, what it does, how important it is for Search Engine Optimization, and how to properly write one.

At Web Geeks For Hire, we strive for intelligent, focused design. A big part of that is in the choice of content management system (or, CMS). A CMS should allow website owners - not merely developers - to add content and grow their website. We know that many site owners wish to leave the website up to the development team - while others want to dive in and "get their hands dirty." We try to make life good for both types! A really good CMS should be simple enough for a business owner to use, yet complex enough to fulfill their needs.

We have been making some exciting updates at Web Geeks For Hire over the last several months. We have recently moved over to a new server, upgrading our disk space, ram, and bandwidth for all of our clients and projects. The new server also gives us a lot more control over the whole environment so that we are able to customize the hosting experience more than we were before for each client.
